Fully Staffed Nursery during Worship
Jesus once said
“Whoever welcomes (a) child…welcomes me.” (Matthew 18:5)
It is in keeping with these words from Jesus that Shepherd
of the Valley United Methodist Church proudly announces the
availability of a free and fully staffed and equipped Nursery.
Infants and toddlers too young to participate in the regular Sunday
school program are welcome to attend!
The Nursery, which is conveniently located in
the church, is open every Sunday during the hours of Worship and
Sunday school (
9:15am- 10:45am
). If concerns about child care have kept you away from Church, fret
no longer-- SOVUMC can meet the spiritual needs of your entire
family. "While teenage assistants will often be present to
help, in keeping with the best models of child safety, the nursery
will always be primarily staffed by two adults."
To assure the safety and comfort of the infants
and toddlers served by the Nursery, a minimum of two adults will be
present whenever the Nursery is open. In keeping with the best
models of child safety, any assistance provided by teenage
volunteers in the Nursery will be directly supervised by the adults
on duty. We encourage you to take advantage of this valuable
resource, while you also nurture your own soul by attending worship
service.
To ensure the safety of the children, the
church has developed guidelines
for operation of the nursery.
If you have any questions about the Nursery, or
would like more information, feel free to contact Rev. Bill Flug or
Rev. Lynn McCracken at (821-8217). Registering
your child for the Nursery school program is a simple as filling out
the registration
form and bringing it to Church with you on your next visit.
