We at Shepherd of the Valley United
Methodist Church are a Christian community which strives to live
God's commandment to love one another and follow the teachings
of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
We are a people who come to God through
worship experience.
We are a United Methodist congregation.
We believe in the personal experience of God's love. This experience
calls us to be witnesses for our faith and for justice in the
world. We are part of the connectional church which unites us
with others in our state, our region, our country, and our world.
We are a community of people who have begun
our spiritual journeys in many different places and are growing
together as a congregation.
We are welcoming of people of all
ages, nations, and races; of all talents, skills, and abilities.
We celebrate this diversity and its enrichment of our individual
lives and that of our church.
We are seeking spiritual growth through
prayer, study, worship, sharing, and stewardship. We challenge
ourselves to grow individually and as a congregation.
We are a trusting and caring community,
here for each other in times of joy and of need.
We are striving to become good stewards,
seeking new ways to care for all that God has given us. Growth
in giving our time, talent, gifts, and service is part of our
spiritual life.
We are growing in reaching out to
our community, through our denomination, and to our world.
